A lot to chew on, as usual. Thanks.

One thing Israel has mastered and the Republican party has been working hard on, if a bit scattered in its approach, is dehumanizing the Other as part of portraying them as an existential threat. Certainly Israel got a big assist from other countries defining themselves as existential threats to Israel, the old "you're not paranoid if they really are out to get you" effect. My point, such as it is, the dehumanization is a critical component if you settle on a response of obliterating the Other. Much like young men need to be beaten down to follow orders to kill, the general public needs to be molded to accept subhuman status of the Other to accept widespread death of the Other. AI can streamline the process but the public still has to accept it at some level as "normal" for it to work.

In a related veing, there was a gobsmackingly idiotic guest essay in the NYT yesterday https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/10/opinion/ai-chatbots-virtue-vice.html?unlocked_article_code=1.SVA.3YIz.haCLwYMtNf-g&smid=url-share

"How 6,000 Bad Coding Lessons Turned a Chatbot Evil" complete with the usual arrant nonsense about how LLM's and human brains are just alike!
