His inability to absorb even the simplest concepts — tariffs; social distancing; farm subsidies; magnets; eclipses; asylum — should be blindingly clear to everyone in the country...but for whatever reasons involving "messaging" (you will all forgive the term) we still have millions of people in America who think he's smart and can be trusted to solve problems.
Tens of millions, even excluding whatever percentage is "anything with an R after its name" voters. The rest of us are having a really hard time coming to terms with the implications of how Pretty Vacant those voters are. A lot of the fear being directed at Trump should be properly aimed at them, because they are responsible for Trump and will be responsible for the next one, even more than the Republican party, voting themselves bread and circuses.
Trump himself is a Black Swan. A lot of unrelated things, from the Republican plurality-take-all primaries to Paul Manifort's financial difficulties to James Comey's unexplainable fit of "ethics" had to fall into place to squeak out a win under our 18th c. election process. But the machine and its voter base propping him up will survive, win or lose, and will not stop until forced to, and our system is struggling with holding them to account for what they have already done, let alone prevent what they might/will do.
It's a dumb Weave, but it is a Weave. Of course, it's also post-hoc free-association justification by another name. Circles and cycles and abuse, oh my.
I got into an argument with a fellow who insisted 1/4 was larger than 1/2 because 4 was larger than 2. He wrote ad copy for the local NBC affiliate and lived in the good end of town. Drove an Audi. Dumb as a stick.

Before the weaving, there must be spin. But he'd be nowhere without the fleecing...
that's just an old yarn
Oof.
Still, back in the day, you could weave it into an oldie but hoodie...

The Stupid deserve representation too.
